Outstanding MPRE Study Materials

Just got my MPRE scores today in the mail-128! Like the other reviewers I can't say enough about these cards. They are all you really need in order to get a passing score in any jurisdiction on the MPRE's. My only criticism is that it took me a bit longer to go through the cards than the intructions indicated, and since I was practicing full-time, I definitely didn't have the time to review every card two or three times as suggested. Basically, I went through all of the cards during the four week period leading up to the test, saving the last week for test practice. I used the other Emanual's "Strategies..." book for this (it has 150 sample questions), but if I had to do it again, I'd probably pick up actual past MPRE tests that the examiners make available. At least on my actual MPRE test, none of the questions seemed similar to the ones in the Emanual's "Strategies" book. Good Luck!
Exactly what you need to know

I used these cards because I was in the middle of taking Professional Responsibility and wanted to cover the things we hadn't gotten to before taking the MPRE. I started reading the cards 3 days before the test and probably spent 10-15 hours going through them.
After reading a few cards I realized that they were also useful in refreshing the things I had already learned.
I basically read all of the cards and pulled out ones that were new to me or that I wanted to review more. Then on the day of the test I went through the cards I had pulled out.
The information on the cards is very clearly expressed and easy to understand. Most importantly the sample questions seem to be in the same format and approach as the MPRE questions.
While some may find that this set is way too much information, it's easy enough to skip over sections or cards you already know or are comfortable with.
My only (minor) complaint is that some of the party and attorney names are extremely corny and tend to distract from the actual question. But if you are prepared to roll your eyes at "Donald Chump" references, these cards are really useful. |
OK, but overkill

The MPRE doesn't take this much studying. There are like a million cards in this set. They are helpful, but I didn't have the time to get through them all before I had to take the test. If you are the type that needs to overprepare for everything, then these may be your solution. If you think that ethics isn't too tough and you just need something to refresh your memory before the exam, get something else.
Great Cards!!!

These cards are so great. They are so much fun to use that I got my non-lawyer husband to help me use them. I took the MPRE Nov 2008 and passed with flying colors!!! I got more than 40 points over the 85 req'd for NY state.
Great for studying for the MPRE

These cards were so handy in quickly preparing for the MPRE. They were also somewhat helpful in preparing for my Professional Responsibility final in law school.
