The Teas test practice guide is generally used for getting someone prepared to take the Teas exam. this test assesses your general knowledge, typically in the nursing field. when taking the exam, you are being tested on your knowledge of the following: English, reading, science, and math. keep reading to get some helpful tips and hints for acing the Teas exam.
The math section of the Teas study guide covers algebra equations, percentages, ratio and proportions, whole numbers, fractions, and the metric conversion. High school math skills are mostly required for the math section, as the Teas test has been normally used for preliminary college entrance.
In regards to the English section of the exam, grammatical skills are mostly covered. An example of what you can expect is the following: sentence structure, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and various parts of speech. You will be expected to correct grammatical errors and to correct poorly structured sentences.
The reading has been known to be the most challenging section on the exam. Reading comprehension skills are measured in this area of the test. You will have to look at small passages, read them and then answer a few questions about what you read. be prepared to answer questions about the specific events listed in the passage as well as make an assumption about what the story means.
When you study for the science section, you will need to have some general knowledge about biology, chemistry, general science and science reasoning. just like the math section, high school should have prepared you to take this section of the test, especially if you took more than 3 science courses.
It will take you roughly 3 ½ hours to complete the entire exam. The questions are all multiple-choice based. be thorough in reading through each question and choosing the correct answer and utilizing the process of elimination.
As you study, keep in mind of your strengths and weaknesses. know that the reading section will require more effort so practice on mastering the main idea of passages to make your test taking a breeze.
